About The Position

AtkinsRéalis is one of Canada's largest private sector nuclear engineering groups with over 60 years of experience serving the nuclear industry. The Project Engineering Coordinator will report to the Project Manager or Area Manager and will be responsible for coordinating engineering, procurement, and construction work. This role requires continuous communication with project team members and involves identifying, planning, and implementing various scopes of work. The position is crucial for major project areas, including new nuclear design and construction, as well as refurbishment projects for existing plants.

Requirements

  • University degree or equivalent.
  • Excellent organizational, communication and customer relationship skills.
  • Demonstrated oral and written communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • BSc in Engineering considered an asset.
  • Experience supporting various types of projects including construction, manufacturing or engineering services projects considered an asset.
  • An appreciation of the importance of Quality Assurance Programs and their significance to the nuclear industry considered an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for assigned scope of the project and accountable for performing duties that facilitate work progressing with safety, quality, schedule, cost, and contractual requirements.
  • Liaise with key stakeholders including engineering, construction, quality, client & subcontractors.
  • Maintain a positive relationship with client project counterparts.
  • Help implement the project schedule and track budget for assigned engineering, procurement, construction segments of the project.
  • Coordinate with Engineering to ensure that technical documents are prepared in support of the project.
  • Coordinate the preparation and delivery of project deliverables, including construction work packages.
  • Provide status and progress reports in support of the Project Manager.
  • Ensure work is performed within quality program requirements.
  • Ensure a strong nuclear safety culture is reinforced continuously.
  • May be assigned to short-term field service assignments on Candu Field Services projects, typically during a customer’s outages.
  • During field assignments, may be requested to perform work in a radiological work environment, once trained and qualified, and under the supervision of radiation protection personnel.
