About The Position

As a Project Engineer, you will assist the Project Manager and Superintendents in preparing documentation and ensuring smooth project execution from procurement to completion. Strong teamwork and communication skills are essential. Interpret and understand project plans and specifications. Gather submittal data and shop drawings from subcontractors. Review subcontractor submittmits to ensure compliance with project plans and specifications. Utilize software such as Prolog and Submittal Exchange to input and track submittal data. Obtain and review subcontractor/vendor quotes, submitting them for Project Manager approval. Create and maintain logs using all Specification Sections in coordination with Project Managers and clients. Build and maintain relationships with key vendors (subcontractors, suppliers, engineers, etc.). Order materials and assist with material takeoffs in collaboration with the Site Superintendent. Support the Project Manager and Site Superintendent in scheduling, tracking, issue management, risk management, change management, and status reporting. Create agendas for weekly meetings and internal project updates. Prepare and submit Requests for Information (RFIs) and follow through to final acceptance. Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word.
  • Strong computer skills and familiarity with project management software.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in a professional setting.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to build relationships and collaborate effectively with vendors and team members.
  • Experience in inventory control and process improvement.
  • Project Engineering: 1 year (Required)
  • Experience with RFI's and Submittal's (Required)

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management or a related field (Preferred)
  • Experience with Federal Construction projects (Preferred).
