About The Position

Dewberry is seeking a Project Engineer for its site/civil team in the Raleigh, North Carolina office. The role offers the opportunity to grow, take on increased responsibility, and contribute to community projects by helping clients address challenging problems.

Typical work includes site/civil design for commercial and industrial development, higher education, parks and recreation, capital improvements, water and wastewater, and roadway projects. The engineer collaborates with a diverse team on project design and construction documentation.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering.
• At least 4 years of experience directly related to the design and construction of land development and capital improvement projects.
• Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification is required.
• Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D, Water CAD, Storm CAD, and Microsoft Office programs.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work in a team environment.

Nice To Haves

• Professional Engineer (PE) licensure is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design site/civil development projects, including grading, utilities, roadways, stormwater management systems, and erosion and sediment control.
• Prepare associated calculations, reports, and spreadsheets.
• Work on project design teams to develop detailed design documents for construction plans.
• Conduct code research, write specifications, and obtain permits.
