About The Position

The Project Engineer will learn Welty processes and tools and develop professional skills while assisting from the estimating phase through project completion. This role involves some traveling as needed. The Project Engineer makes decisions on routine matters, provides recommendations to supervisor, and refers all exceptions to supervisors. The career path for this role is Sr. Project Engineer.

Requirements

Proficiency in MS Office.

Proficiency in required construction technology.
Knowledge of the means and methods of construction management.
Knowledge of specific trades and scopes of work.
Knowledge of Lean process and philosophy.
Ability to build relationships and collaborate within a team, internally and externally.
Successful completion of company training and role-specific professional development coursework, within required timeframe (Required).
Successful completion and maintenance of First Aid Certification, CPR (Required).
All OSHA training required to supervise project.

Nice To Haves

Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering or related field
0-2 years of PE/construction experience

Responsibilities

Assist in creating and maintaining Project Schedule
Create Request for Quotations, collect and qualify quotations, tabulate quotations, for PM’s approval for all Requests for Proposal.
Assist Project Manager/Superintendent in creating RFI’s, FWD,s and Bulletins
Assist Project Manager/Superintendent with Scope of Work changes
Request Bid Evaluations
Utilize the project management software
Create and distribute Project Meeting Minutes.
Maintains subcontractor list as assigned for bidding utilizing the Company’s selected computer program(s).
Transmits invitation to bid letters using current methodologies as directed.
Assist Estimator / Project Manager in tracking bidders.
Assembles Scope of Work Book on a project by project basis. Sends Bid Documents out for printing and distributes to Subcontractors.
Contacts unsuccessful bidders to secure return of Bid Documents books.
Transmits submittmits to Architects and transmits submittals back to subcontractors after they have been approved by the Architect.
Tracks and Files Certified Payroll reports by project as required.
Scans and files project progress photos
Drafts and or otherwise prepares memoranda and bulletins on project changes and transmits to appropriate subcontractor.
Assists in creating presentation materials.
Assists in the compilation of the Monthly Progress Reports as directed.
Assist in taking Meeting Minutes as directed.
Performs any other task or duty as may be directed by Project Managers or the Office Manager.
Other duties as assigned.

Complies with all company and site policies and best practice standards.
Continuously develops proficiency and understanding in the role.
Maintains a professional appearance and workspace.
Participates in and complies with all company safety and quality programs and procedures.
Utilizes relevant Welty Technology to support all assigned responsibilities.
