This specific role is for a Project Engineer at Nutek Disposables in McElhattan, PA. The position is responsible for the specification, selection, purchase, installation, and startup support of major capital projects, primarily equipment, to enhance manufacturing efficiencies, quality, or expand operations.

Requirements

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Chemical or Manufacturing Engineering or equivalent technical field.
  • Minimum 5 years experience in a process manufacturing environment.
  • Minimum 5 years experience successfully leading and implementing large capital projects.
  • Standard knowledge and close tolerance of high speed manufacturing equipment.
  • Standard knowledge in material handling concepts, material flow concepts, and plant layout.
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD.
  • Standard knowledge of cost accounting principles.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to identify machine, material, and/or process improvements and implement solutions.
  • Ability to teach/train operating personnel and write procedures/manuals.

Nice To Haves

  • High speed, high volume production machinery experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develops project/equipment recommendations including technical, commercial, and financial aspects.
  • Coordinates and manages installation activities across multiple disciplines to meet project objectives, including startup and validations.
  • Leads machine design changes to lower costs and/or improve quality while ensuring customer requirements are met.
  • Utilizes project management skills to prepare and communicate project status, budget updates, and schedules.
  • Coordinates multiple internal and external disciplines to meet required schedules.
  • Forms and leads cohesive project teams with representatives from various functional groups (Process Engineers, Controls Engineers, Packaging Engineers, Safety Engineers, Purchasing, Customer Service, Maintenance, Production, Planning/Purchasing, and Quality Assurance).
  • Writes procedures and manuals and trains operation personnel.
  • Observes all safety rules and uses proper safety equipment.
  • Performs other duties as necessary.
  • Follows necessary GMP, FDA, and ISO regulations.
