This role is crucial for ensuring that engineering activities comply with company and contract requirements and support the overall construction schedule. The Project Engineer provides technical support for construction efforts, including interpreting designs, applying construction methods, resolving design conflicts, and conducting constructability reviews. They interface with all on-site departments to resolve problems and ensure the quality of construction, project safety, and adherence to project specifications. Additionally, this role involves supervising field layout and surveying activities, observing workflow, anticipating schedule changes, and coordinating material delivery with superintendents. The Project Engineer also reviews and negotiates change orders, assists in bid preparation, resolves field construction problems, analyzes material requirements, and develops customized equipment specifications. They support cost and revenue monitoring, develop project engineering procedures, and handle business correspondence, billing, and financial reporting.
