About The Position

Mesa Energy Systems is a full-service HVAC, building automation, chiller, and retrofit contractor known for combining high-quality consulting services with customized energy solutions. They offer integrated, single-source solutions including turnkey in-house capabilities with design assistance, engineering applications, and automated control systems. This Project Engineer position involves planning, organizing, coordinating, directing, and controlling all contract functions between Mesa Energy Systems and clients for small projects. The role also provides assistance and backup to Project Managers for larger HVAC retrofit construction projects.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in engineering, construction management or business management
• 3+ years working experience in HVAC or building controls
• Knowledge of submitting written proposals, scopes of work, scheduling and coordinating site contractors and other assigned personnel
• A thorough understanding of preventive maintenance schedules and operations and the ability to meet demanding customer requirements
• Strong verbal and listening communication skills and excellent telephone etiquette as well as professional friendly demeanor
• Proven ability to multi-task and handle a high volume of work with extreme accuracy and adjust to changing priorities
• The ability to anticipate needs and solve job related problems independently and act with appropriate urgency
• Advanced MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint skills
• Must possess valid driver’s license and meet MVR requirements to operate company vehicle

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain project schedules
• Create and manage design submittals, RFI’s and change orders
• Work with the Quality Control manager to create, review and edit required quality control documents
• Manage designers, subcontractors and vendors to ensure required design & installation information is provided correctly and on-time
• Review subcontractor & engineering performance and provide feedback to the Project Manager
• Coordinates purchase of necessary supplies, equipment and services from appropriate sources and maintains proper inventory control, maintenance and consumable supplies
• Authority to review and approve design submittals to ensure compliance
