About The Position
The Walsh Group is seeking entry-level Project Engineers for projects in Virginia Beach, Chesapeake, and Ashburn, Virginia, for 2026–2027. Project Engineers support project teams and help coordinate construction activities, manage production, solve problems using data, and maintain strong working relationships. Walsh is a fourth-generation, family-owned business that offers a small-company feel with the backing of a large company and emphasizes technology, employee recognition, and customer service.
Requirements
- At least 1 year of experience.
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Previous internship, co-op, or employment experience is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Manage document control, including RFIs, submittals, change orders, and claims.
- Assist and support the project team with daily project coordination.
- Procure construction materials.
- Perform quality control and quality assurance checks.
- Coordinate subcontractors.
- Perform survey and project layout.
- Take weekly progress pictures for reports.
- Manage construction equipment.
- Manage safety.
- Assist with project estimating.
