About The Position

The JCQ Project Engineer oversees planning and coordinates technical value engineering initiatives to ensure projects are completed within budget and according to schedule. This role involves upholding project standards by researching compliance regulations, developing project implementation plans, and adjusting project specifications while maintaining accurate project inventories. The Project Engineer will utilize computer software to assess production risks, compile reports, and present suggestions for current or upcoming projects to project leaders.

Requirements

  • Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and engineering principles.
  • Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Procore, Microsoft Project) and design tools (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit).
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Analyzing requirement documents, blueprints, and project plans to gain a thorough understanding of the project and determine factors influencing cost.
  • Preparing material estimates and cost estimates for products or services.
  • Creating labor estimates for projects.
  • Developing and maintaining relationships with company vendors and contractors.
  • Managing and updating project inventories.
  • Using bid data to prepare detailed matrix analysis.
  • Creating and managing warehouse requests (Pull Requests) for owner and/or contractor-furnished materials.
  • Coordinating warehouse appointments for pickups and deliveries.
  • Performing visual counts of "on hand" inventories as needed.
  • Managing Waste Diversion program requests for container setups and swaps.
  • Compiling and recording actual job conditions affecting project costs (e.g., material delays, OFI Damages).
  • Attending pre-bid meetings, walkthroughs, and pre-construction meetings as required.
  • Managing RFIs, Addendums, and Change Orders.
  • Overseeing all incoming and outgoing project documentation.
  • Designing risk mitigation plans with Project Managers.
  • Optimizing and improving processes and overall approach where necessary.
  • Participating in sales processes, networking, and presentations.
  • Resolving conflicts as needed.
  • Responding to client or management requests in a timely fashion.
