About The Position

Rycon Construction is seeking an experienced Project Engineer for its Charlotte regional office. This role will be based full-time in Louisville, KY. Rycon Construction is an employee-owned company (ESOP) that provides construction management, general contracting, design-build, and program management services nationwide. They specialize in new construction, renovations, and adaptive reuse projects across various sectors including aviation, healthcare, higher education, industrial/warehouse, commercial, multi-unit residential, student housing, food service/dining, data centers/mission critical, retail, financial, self-storage, government/municipality, and LEED facilities. They also have an in-house Architectural Finishes & Specialty Fabrication Division.

Requirements

Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in the commercial construction field, ideally including multifamily.
A degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.
A working understanding of construction cost accounting.
Computer skills required: Procore, scheduling software (P6 preferred), and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
Strong proficiency using the Procore project management system.

Nice To Haves

Ability to develop and maintain schedules in P6 is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

Working closely with PMs and Superintendents on the day-to-day operations of construction sites.
Reading and interpreting drawings and specifications.
Working with submittments, RFIs, and change management.
Assisting in contract buyouts.
Working with architects, engineers, and subcontractors.
Developing project schedules and phasing plans.
Attending and documenting project meetings.
Supporting projects with exposure to multifamily construction environments.
