The Mission Systems Operations Contract (MSOC) at NASA’s Johnson Space Center (JSC) has an opening for a Project Engineer (PE) to facilitate changes to JSC’s mission systems which include the Mission Control Center (MCC), the Mission Training Center (MTC), and the Space Vehicle Mockup Facility (SVMF). The PE role is responsible for working with the NASA customer and MSOC personnel to determine critical milestones for the NASA program they are supporting (e.g., ISS, HLS, etc.) and to identify the changes required to the MCC, MTC, or SVMF facilities to support the program milestones. With those changes identified, the PE is then responsible for working with the engineers to ensure that the requirements are documented via Change Requests (CRs), approved by NASA for implementation, and implemented on schedule. During implementation, the PE is responsible for tracking the progress of the various CRs and working with engineers and test personnel to ensure the work is proceeding on schedule. The PE is required to build schedules and provide status on those schedules to NASA management and MSOC contract leadership, including any issues and risks that the project is facing (and how those might be addressed or mitigated). The PE may perform other tasks, as required.
