About The Position

Responsible to lead a team of structural/mechanical engineers and designers in developing, designing, and delivering bulk material handling equipment. Direct contact with clients and vendors is required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree (Structural or Mechanical) in Engineering from a four-year college or university
  • Five or more years related experience
  • 5 years minimum experience in the Bulk Material Handling Industry
  • 2D & 3D using AutoCad required

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of mining and /or bulk material handling industries
  • Other 3D design software, such as e.g. Inventor, SolidWorks, Advance Steel desired, but not essential

Responsibilities

  • Leads a team of structural/mechanical engineers and designers to develop an innovative, high quality solution.
  • Identifies project staffing requirements and coordinates staffing with supporting organization managers.
  • Oversees project personnel to specific phases or aspects of project.
  • Assists in developing and maintaining a schedule and budget for the assigned engineering project.
  • Provides reports on the status of project milestones and adjusts schedules accordingly.
  • Reviews expenditures within limitations of project budget.
  • Reviews product design for compliance with engineering principles, company standards, customer contract requirements, and related specifications.
  • Interfaces with customers to provide project status reports and ensure customer needs are met.
  • Coordinates with vendors and other disciplines for consistency in the design.
  • Prepares technical specifications.
  • Mentors junior engineers in the business, business practices, and position requirements.
