This job posting reflects a current vacancy within the organization. The position is active, approved, and intended to be filled as part of our staffing needs. This posting is for an existing and currently open position. Development of and management of capital engineering projects. Responsible for managing project budgets and day to day activities associated with capital projects.

Requirements

  • P.Eng. licence or ability to obtain.
  • Ability to work; in a multi-task environment, with multiple projects, with cross functional teams and independently.
  • Contractor management skills.
  • Strong knowledge of Good Engineering Practices, current GMPs, building codes and applicable legislation.
  • Sound analytical, problem solving and decision making and problem solving skills.
  • Excellent project management skills and ability to handle multiple complex projects.
  • Strong interpersonal, leadership, negotiation, organization, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Excellent computer skills.

Responsibilities

  • Developing capital project requirements, resource allocation and plans.
  • Resolving issues and project conflicts.
  • Influencing within cross-functional team members without direct authority
  • Monitoring projects for variance in scope, schedule, budget and risk.
  • Communicating project status to front-line personnel through to senior management.
  • Developing optimum technical solutions in collaboration with Customers, System Owners, EHS and Quality Assurance to meet the business need and regulatory requirements.
  • Being responsible for the specification, procurement, installation, commissioning, qualification and hand- over of capital and change projects.
  • Championing Environmental, Health & Safety awareness through all project stages.
  • Selecting and managing professional consultants, contractors and suppliers.
  • Participating/collaborating with external resources to obtain required project deliverables.
  • Applying technical expertise and project management principles during all project stages: specification, procurement, installation, commissioning, systems qualification and hand-over of capital and change projects.
