About The Position

We’re hiring a Project Engineer to support and grow with our team delivering electrical and transmission infrastructure projects based in College Point, Queens. This role offers hands‑on exposure to project planning, cost control, scheduling, and field coordination, with a strong emphasis on professional development and a clear path to becoming a Project Manager. The ideal candidate is early in their career, highly organized, eager to learn, and passionate about growing within the construction and utilities space.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Civil Engineering
  • 1–3 years of experience in construction, utilities, or infrastructure projects
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with strong Excel skills for data tracking, reporting, and analysis
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Interest in learning project controls, scheduling, and cost management

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting electrical or utility infrastructure projects
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD and change order processes
  • Understanding of construction management and commercial construction practices
  • Strong communication skills and willingness to learn in a fast‑paced environment
  • Demonstrated ambition to grow into a Project Manager role

Responsibilities

  • Support the planning, execution, and tracking of electrical transmission projects, working closely with Project Managers and functional leads
  • Monitor and control project costs by tracking invoices, tickets, subcontractor billing, and change documentation
  • Assist with preconstruction activities, including mark‑out requests, project kick‑offs, permitting, and utility work package development
  • Capture and maintain accurate project data, including timesheets, crew locations, materials, billing, and as‑built records
  • Manage and help schedule project activities, identifying critical and near‑critical paths
  • Utilize project reporting tools (including Viewpoint) to support analysis, reporting, and decision‑making
  • Prepare monthly cost reports to ensure spending remains aligned with project budgets
  • Support both office and field activities, gaining hands‑on exposure to active construction sites
  • Participate in project kick‑offs, coordination meetings, and customer meetings
  • Collaborate with the project management team to resolve issues and support on‑time project delivery
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support overall project success
