About The Position

Herzog Contracting Corp. is currently seeking a Project Engineer in Cincinnati, OH to join our team. This role involves assisting the Project Manager and Construction Manager with project execution according to contract documents, managing field engineers, and supporting project cost forecasting and scheduling.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Four-year engineering degree plus two or more years similar construction scheduling experience or equivalent combinations of training and related experience.
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work with a team.
  • Must have strong organization skills.
  • Must be highly motivated.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and technical documents.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel; experience with Procore or PM Web is a plus.
  • Subject to pre-employment background check and motor vehicle report review.
  • Maintain a valid driver's license and endorsements as required per position.
  • Subject to pre-employment physical, medical evaluation, and drug screen.
  • Successfully complete and maintain any required safety certification and testing on an annual basis.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Project Manager and Construction Manager with the execution of the Project per the contract documents.
  • Know the contractual obligations that HCC has with the client and vice versa.
  • Manage, lead, and support Field Engineers with the development of construction work plans as well as the development and processing of submittents, RFIs, and potential change order documentation, ensuring compliance with the contract documents.
  • Assist with project cost forecasting and ensure costs are properly coded to the correct cost code.
  • Support the development and maintenance of the Project’s CPM schedule and ensure materials are procured in a timely manner.
  • Review submittals and RFIs for completeness and accuracy prior to transmitting to the Owner.
  • Assist with Progress Payment Applications to the Owner and assist with Subcontract administration.
  • Regular and consistent engagement, participation and promotion of Herzog’s Culture and its essential behaviors are a requirement for this position.
  • Regular and predictable attendance and punctuality are a requirement for this position.
  • Other duties as assigned.
