About The Position

As a Project Engineer, you’ll be the technical lead driving engineering execution, strengthening program performance, and shaping the solutions behind mission readiness. You’ll work out of our Binghamton location —an area known for its affordability, rich history, and proximity to the scenic Finger Lakes.

Requirements

  • A BS in Engineering or equivalent experience, plus 8+ years of hands on technical or project leadership.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • A proactive, accountable approach—you thrive under pressure and take ownership naturally.
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, and risk management skills.
  • Engineering lifecycle experience (requirements, design, build, test and delivery)
  • Ability to obtain and maintain an active DoD Secret clearance and Special Program Access.
  • U.S. citizenship required.
  • Flexibility for occasional overtime, weekend/shift work, and CONUS travel.
  • Due to U.S. Government contract requirements, only U.S. citizens are eligible for this role.

Nice To Haves

  • Earned Value Management (EVM) experience (Cost/Schedule/Technical)
  • Familiarity with DevSecOps
  • Defense or military experience and comfort operating in both Traditional and Agile environments.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the engineering effort for your program, energizing teams and ensuring alignment across IPTs.
  • Drive major technical events—design reviews, peer reviews, and program milestones—while keeping stakeholders informed and engaged.
  • Own engineering scope, cost, schedule, and risk; maintain execution discipline through routine Cost Account Management (CAM) reviews.
  • Work closely with senior level program engineering management.
  • Interface with leadership, DoD customers, and government stakeholders.
  • Identify risks early, anticipate challenges, and guide smart, datadriven decisions.
  • Champion new ideas, improved processes, and emerging technologies that elevate performance.
  • Build strong relationships across teams, fostering trust, collaboration, and forward momentum.
  • Use your analytical mindset to simplify complexity and drive confident technical choices.
  • Must comply with all company security and data protection / usage policies and procedures.
  • Personally responsible for proper marking and handling of all information and materials, in any form.
  • Shall not divulge any information, or afford access, to other employees not having a need-to-know.
  • Shall not divulge information outside company without management approval.
  • All government and proprietary information will be accessed and stored electronically on company provided resources.
  • Incumbent must be eligible for DoD Personal Security Clearance.
