About The Position

Functions as a project engineer in Construction and is responsible for assisting in the management of the construction process under the direction of the Project Manager(s). This role involves participating in trade procurement and management, maintaining a thorough understanding of contract documents and subcontracts, and meticulously tracking and updating all construction project documents, including drawings and bulletins. The Project Engineer will also be responsible for preparing, reviewing, and distributing RFIs and submittals, maintaining logs for both, and scheduling, attending, and preparing minutes for job meetings. Additionally, the role includes developing and maintaining project schedules with Superintendents and Project Managers, ensuring progress and quality documentation is maintained, and verifying adherence to Related Beal procedures and standards. The Project Engineer will also review and provide feedback on monthly requisitions and manage project closeout, including obtaining all warranties for final acceptance.

  • Communication: Ability to interact professionally with a diverse group of executives, managers, and field experts. Ability to prioritize workload. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Behavioral: Professional in demeanor and overall behavior. Takes initiative and takes responsibility/ownership of decisions, actions and results.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs including Excel, Word, and Outlook.

Nice To Haves

  • Internship at a Developer or GC is a plus, but not required.
  • Working knowledge of Primavera Scheduling and Expedition Construction Management and Cost Control programs is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Assisting in the management of the construction process under the direction of the Project Manager(s).
  • Participate in Trade Procurement and Management.
  • Maintain thorough understanding of contract documents and subcontracts.
  • Maintain and track and update all Construction Project Documents.
  • Maintain and update Construction Drawing set.
  • Maintain Master drawing list that shows history of drawing changes.
  • Track and distribute Bulletins issued by the design team.
  • Provide feedback to CM and Architect on Bulletins.
  • Prepare, review and distribute RFIs. Maintain RFI Log.
  • Prepare, review and distribute Submittals. Maintain Submittal Log.
  • Schedule, Attend and Prepare meeting minutes for job meetings.
  • Develop and maintain schedule with Project Superintendents and Project Managers.
  • Maintain progress and quality documentation with Superintendent.
  • Ensure Related Beal procedures and standards are maintained.
  • Review and provide feedback for monthly requisition.
  • Manage project closeout and obtain all warranties required for final acceptance.
