About The Position

The Project Engineer will be responsible for managing and executing projects according to the Halker Project Delivery Process (PDP). This role involves developing project scopes, schedules, and budgets, monitoring progress, and ensuring team performance to meet project objectives. The Project Engineer will coordinate with various engineering disciplines, clients, field employees, and vendors to ensure successful project completion, compliance with specifications, and effective problem-solving. Key responsibilities include managing project deliverables, facilitating technical issue resolution, maintaining client relationships, and providing regular project status reports.

Requirements

  • Bachelor Degree in Process or Petroleum Engineering
  • At least 5+ years of project management and/or project engineering or relevant engineering/construction experience in the oil & gas industry
  • Upstream and/or Midstream oil and gas experience preferred
  • Vendor interaction and coordination with field crews
  • Proven experience in the direct oversight and management of facility and plant design
  • Extensive experience with facility design including piping design, foundation design, structural design, instrument and electrical systems, distributed control systems, programmable logic controllers, process control basics, and safety systems
  • Multi-tasking/working on various projects at the same time
  • Must be flexible and able to switch gears often
  • Strong Relationship builder and with excellent written and oral communication

Responsibilities

  • Perform strict adherence to and champion the Halker Project Delivery Process (PDP) for every project assigned
  • Develop the scope of engineering work, schedules, and budgets for assigned projects
  • Monitor progress to meet schedule and budget requirements
  • Responsible for team performance to meet schedule, cost, and quality
  • Coordinate projects to ensure successful completion of the assigned project phases within the budgeted time and cost constraints
  • Ensure client criteria and scope are met by all engineering disciplines
  • Oversee project deliverables for compliance with engineering principles, company standards, customer requirements, and related industry specifications
  • Initiate/participate in meetings to resolve technical and project issues
  • Evaluate and approve design changes, specifications, and drawing releases/reviews, as necessary with assigned engineering discipline leads
  • Ability to work with field employees and vendors as well as other disciplines
  • Serve as technical resource for troubleshooting project related issues and problem solving
  • Develop client relationship to ensure open communication between client and project team
  • Coordinate the installation, maintenance, and operation of oil field equipment
  • Compile project status reports and issues to Client on a weekly basis that includes a detailed description of deliverables and current budget/billing status
