About The Position

Braun Intertec is seeking a Project Engineer to join our Building Sciences group in the Grapevine office. This role involves developing and maintaining client relationships, leading technical teams, preparing proposals, performing engineering analysis, and managing projects. The engineer will also mentor junior staff, ensure compliance with health and safety policies, and assist in reviewing building component failures and construction documents. Field support for testing, such as window water spray testing, blower door testing, and thermographic inspections, may also be required.

  • Ability to walk through a project or jobsite, stoop, kneel, crawl, reach, carry, touch and climb. This can be in a combination of tightly enclosed areas, or on ladders, lifts and scaffolding.
  • At times the job can be physically demanding and involves interior and exterior work in all weather conditions.
  • Travel up to 35% of time
  • Valid Driver’s License and clear driving record.
  • Bachelor’s degree (BS) in structural, civil, or related engineering required
  • Three or more years of civil or structural engineering experience
  • Ability to lift up to 50 to 75 pounds on a periodic basis

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree (MS) in structural, civil, or related engineering optional
  • Experience managing client relationships, vendor management, and leading a team preferred
  • Professional Engineer registration/licensure in TX or ability to attain within 6 to 12 months

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain internal and external client relationships, including project and non-project related face-to-face meetings
  • Leadership of a technical or project related team
  • Prepare proposals for moderate to complex projects
  • Develop and execute whole scopes, and prepare engineering reports giving professional opinions and practical structural engineering solutions
  • Manage projects (scope, schedule, budget)
  • Perform engineering analysis using company and industry methodologies and standards
  • Mentor junior level engineering staff
  • Understand and work in compliance with corporate health and safety policies
  • Assist in the review of analysis of building component failures and third party review of construction documents and specifications for building envelope components.
  • Support (either directing or on occasion assist) with field testing, as needed, including window water spray testing, blower door testing, thermographic (infrared) inspections and waterproofing/air barrier testing/inspections.
