About The Position
Cleveland-Cliffs has an immediate opportunity for a Project Engineer to support our Mining and Pelletizing Operations in Michigan and Minnesota. The Project Engineer is responsible for providing leadership, direction, and input for capital project execution.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent.
Nice To Haves
- Experience in mineral or industrial processing facility preferred.
Responsibilities
- Assembles project estimates and schedules ranging from Project Scoping to Project Execution Phases.
- Prepares outside engineering scopes of work and bid documents.
- Provides oversight of contracted engineering work performed by outside firms.
- Manages outside engineering schedules and costs. Ensures quality deliverables.
- Works closely with Mining and Pelletizing sites to incorporate their input and priorities into project definition, ensuring effective project execution and meets project objectives
- Works closely with the Environmental Department and contracted Environmental firms to define and manage any permit to operate issues associated with projects.
- Provides construction oversight including contractor management when required for Mining Technology executed capital projects.
- Actively tracks project spending. Assist Director with capital spending forecasts.
- Other duties as assigned.
