About The Position

This position is located in a manufacturing plant and is designed to provide the incumbent with manufacturing exposure for positions of greater responsibility. The Project Engineer will assist in the monitoring and execution of the Engineering Department and Plant safety programs. They will fulfill the Project Manager role in preparing and completing assigned Capital Authorities and Job Sheet requests. The role involves utilizing technical training to advise on and design process improvements, assisting Engineering Department supervision on routine maintenance assignments, and aiding the Engineering Manager in planning and implementing maintenance expenditures. The position offers exposure to direct supervision of plant engineering crews and outside contractors.

Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree in Engineering required.
  • Proficient computer skills (i.e. Microsoft Office, Drafting etc.)
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • High level of organizational skills with the ability to effectively manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks.
  • Must be a self-starter, detailed-oriented, and have the ability to work both independently and within a team to meet deadlines.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior full-time or co-op/intern experience in a manufacturing environment strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the monitoring and execution of the Engineering Department and Plant safety programs.
  • Fulfill Project Manager role in preparing and following to completion all assigned Capital Authorities and Job Sheet requests.
  • Utilize technical training to advise on and design various process improvements as required by the operating department.
  • Assist Engineering Department supervision on routine maintenance assignments and follow-ups required for daily operations.
  • Assist the Engineering Manager in planning and implementing routine and non-routine maintenance expenditures.
  • Gain exposure to direct supervision involving plant engineering crews as well as outside contractors.
