The Project Engineer assists Project Managers to ensure that work installed on the project meets plan and specification requirements. This role involves ensuring compliance with project plans and specifications, reviewing shop drawings and submittals, and performing value analysis and constructability reviews. The Project Engineer also recommends cost-saving methods, attends and documents project meetings, publishes progress reports, and updates project schedules. Additionally, this role assists in bidding, developing scopes of work, and coordinating with superintendents on project scheduling and approvals. Maintaining logs for shop drawings, requests for clarification, and change requests is also a key responsibility. The role includes advising on concrete pours, inspecting structural reinforcing, coordinating testing, and reviewing field procedures and installations for compliance. Work sampling to advise on production efficiency and ensuring compliance with all safety policies are also critical duties.
