About The Position

As a Project Engineer, you will provide mid-level engineering and technical expertise on complex electric transmission design projects for high-voltage overhead utility systems. The role prepares, reviews, and/or provides guidance on line routing, survey coordination, PLS-CADD modeling, structure and foundation design, clearance checks, plan/profile development, material specification and procurement, constructability evaluations, work order package preparation, permitting, vendor and subcontractor coordination, and construction support. Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
At least 4 years of related transmission-line engineering experience in the electric utility industry.
Experience using PLS-CADD to design transmission lines.
Experience with design codes and standards such as NESC, IEEE, ASCE, and ACI.
Experience liaising with substation, transmission, environmental, real estate, construction, and maintenance stakeholders.
Demonstrated ability to apply engineering theories and principles.
Increasing proficiency in researching engineering and design issues, evaluating alternatives, and preparing and presenting findings.
Ability to work safely and obey safety regulations.
Ability to be a self-starter and thrive in an unstructured, varied, deadline-driven work environment.
Ability to collaborate with team members and peers in the electrical utility industry.
Effective verbal, written, and presentation communication skills, including demonstrated verbal and technical writing skills.
Must pass a drug screen and background check and have a satisfactory driving record under the company’s driving (MVR) policy.

Nice To Haves

Professional Engineer (PE) certification.

Responsibilities

Develop and approve PLS-CADD criteria.
Finalize PLS-CADD models.
Schedule project tasks for the project support team.
Attend client stakeholder meetings.
Complete design review meetings with the client.
Provide input on special design questions.
Attend internal design review meetings.
Prepare, review, and/or provide guidance on line routing, survey coordination, transmission-line modeling and design, structure and foundation design, clearance checks, plan/profile development, material specification and procurement, constructability evaluations, work order packages, permitting, vendor and subcontractor coordination, and construction support.
