Located in the Benton/Little Rock area, this position will support the planning, design, and delivery of transportation and stormwater infrastructure projects, including roadway improvements, sidewalks, trails, and stormwater drainage systems. As a key member of our team, you will contribute to a variety of challenging projects from concept through construction while working alongside experienced professional engineers and advancing your technical and project management skills.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or a related engineering field.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license in the State of Arkansas or to ability to obtain within 6 months.
  • Proficiency with roadway and drainage design software, including OpenRoads Designer, MicroStation, GeoPak, AutoCAD Civil 3D, and related analysis tools.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Knowledge of applicable engineering regulations, standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Candidates must be able to pass a drug screen, background check, and have a satisfactory driving record in accordance with the company’s driving (MVR) policy.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with drainage modeling software such as HY-8, HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, StormCAD, GeoHECRAS, or similar programs.
  • Experience using Synchro, SIDRA, and RODEL software.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and/or support the planning, design, and delivery of transportation, roadway, multi-use trail, and stormwater drainage projects.
  • Assist with project management throughout project development, including scope, schedule, budget, staffing, client coordination, and quality control.
  • Prepare and oversee the development of plans, specifications, estimates (PS&E), preliminary engineering reports, schematic designs, traffic control plans, drainage analyses, technical calculations, cost estimates, and related project deliverables.
  • Perform roadway and highway design, including horizontal and vertical geometry, drainage systems, culverts, retaining walls, quantity calculations, and construction details.
  • Coordinate and direct project team activities, including survey, geotechnical investigations, CADD production, specification development, and interdisciplinary design efforts.
  • Serve as a lead engineer and provide guidance, mentorship, and oversight to engineering and technical staff.
  • Monitor project progress, budgets, schedules, and resource requirements to ensure successful project delivery and client satisfaction.
  • Maintain effective communication with clients, agencies, contractors, project stakeholders, and internal team members.
  • Conduct field visits and construction observations to verify project progress, quality, and compliance with design intent.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local regulations, design standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Exercise sound engineering judgment, problem-solving skills, creativity, and technical expertise in developing practical and effective design solutions.
