About The Position

The Project Engineer (PE) is a liaison between the project’s field and corporate office. This role supports the Project Management and Superintendent team by coordinating, tracking and completing a wide variety of tasks to meet the technical requirements of the project.

Requirements

Excellent attention to detail
Ability to adjust quickly as priorities change
Preferred working experience in construction management
Basic knowledge of construction management processes, means and methods
Basic knowledge of building products, construction details and relevant rules, regulations and quality standards
Understanding of facets of the construction process
Familiarity with MS Word and Construction Management applications (ex: Word, Excel, Outlook, Procore, Primavera)
Excellent organization and time management skills
AS or BS degree in construction management, architecture, engineering or related field preferred or equivalent experience in construction management

Responsibilities

Prepare, track, update and distribute project RFI’s using Procore
Tag RFI’s to drawings in Procore
File RFI’s in accordance with uniform filing structure
Obtain 4-Week look ahead schedule from Lead Superintendent and prepare meeting agenda and meeting minutes
Provide updated Plan Log with Revisions and RFI log
Obtain weekly safety topic from Lead Superintendent
Obtain and save all MSDS documents in the project file folders in accordance with the uniform filing structure
Ensure MSDS binder is easily accessible and up to date
Ensure Subcontractors submit Daily Reports in Procore including manpower, description of work performed, and delays with responsible party
Review, process and track all project submittals in Procore
Verify materials delivered to site match approved submittals and communicate any discrepancies
File submittals in accordance with the uniform filing structure
Maintain Permit Log(s) and ensure permits are saved in the project files
Track pending and upcoming permits prior to expiration
Upload, update and maintain project plans and revisions in Procore
Maintain all plan documents and ensure they are up to date electronically and in hard copies
Ensure each revision is permitted and stamped copies are maintained
Coordinate with Development to identify pages that must be resubmitted to the city
Track submission of revised pages with original stamped plan to the city
Coordinate pick up of approved plans and send to A&E for scanning
Save scanned plans, add approved plans to city stamped set and upload into Procore
Assist Superintendent with daily safety walks
Identify safety issues and report to subcontractor’s foreman and superintendent for immediate correction
Document and save repeated safety offenses; email subcontractor main office (copy PM) if an issue continues or is not corrected
Prepare Safety Binder/Safety meeting sign-in sheet
Distribute Safety Topic of the Week packet (English & Spanish)
Obtain signed copies of topic of the week packet for subcontractor’s employees and contact information for Designated safety monitor of every subcontractor
Assist Superintendent with tracking, documenting, and saving jobsite incidents, including OSHA and Morgan incident report forms
Update weekly safety meeting binder with nearest emergency medical facility map
Coordinate with Superintendent to setup delivery routes to property to ensure safety during deliveries
Assist Superintendents with daily on-site safety inspections and material audits
Create and maintain inspection log(s)
Assist Superintendent with schedule updates
Manage and update project schedules
Ensure Superintendent team has updated projected and actual schedule prior to the team meeting each week
Distribute the Lead Superintendents 4-week look ahead at weekly sub meetings
Coordinate, schedule and participate in team and project meetings and prepare meeting minutes
Request, track and prepare project closeout documents for electronic transfer, inclusive of subcontractor and consultant contact lists, submittals, As Built Drawings, and Warranty Letters
Communication with all subcontractors for the duration of the project
Complete all tasks while working with multiple
Provide timely and cordial interaction with supporting work groups, such as accounting, HR, Management, QAQC, internal and external design professionals, etc.
Travel will be required at times for projects out of the city limits
