Requirements

A strong pattern of initiative and highly developed leadership skills.
Proven problem-solving, decision-making, project management and interpersonal skills.
Excellent organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work effectively in a diverse team environment.
Ability to prioritize and balance many tasks simultaneously.
Strong working knowledge of basic computer applications with the ability to master EAMS software.
Current or previously obtained CMRP (Certified Maintenance and Reliability Professional) or ability to achieve certification in 18 months or less.
Must be a Citizen or National of the United States, a lawful, permanent resident, or have authorization to work in the United States.

Nice To Haves

A bachelor's degree in engineering or another technical field.
Minimum three years’ experience in a Maintenance Engineer, Staff Engineer, Industrial Engineer or similar engineering role
Successful completion of leadership training course(s), such as Dale Carnegie or similar training.

Responsibilities

Participates in the development of new production processes and equipment.
Thoroughly understands and practices the most current Hormel Engineering principles of effective Project Management.
Directs the installation, start-up and debugging of highly sophisticated “state-of-the-art” production systems.
Develops, prepares, and recommends appropriation requests for capital and annual maintenance projects.
Recommends the use of outside contractors/suppliers and effectively coordinates their use to achieve project objectives.
Sets up preventive maintenance schedules for new equipment and machinery to ensure up time and extended life.
Utilizes principles of root cause analysis and reliability centered maintenance to solve complex problems.
Supports expanded utilization of the company's Enterprise Asset Management System and its use as a key management information tool.
Assists with Environmental Sustainability program implementation (including energy projects and environmental compliance activities).
Assists with Process Safety Management (PSM)/Risk Management (RM) programs.
