About The Position

The primary function of the Superintendent of Maintenance & Engineering is to guide and direct a staff of maintenance supervisors, engineers, and support personnel engaged in activities involving the repair and maintenance of plant equipment and facilities. The incumbent champions the implementation of best practices in maintenance and operational excellence in support of continuous reliability improvement.

Nice To Haves

  • A bachelor's degree in engineering or another technical field.
  • Minimum seven years’ experience in a Maintenance Engineer, Staff Engineer, or similar engineering role
  • Successful completion of Dale Carnegie 36-hour leadership or similar leadership training course.
  • Achievement of the CARO certification and a working knowledge of Ammonia PSM requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Manages the efficient execution of all maintenance and repair activities.
  • Communicates and applies expert knowledge in the areas of proactive maintenance management.
  • Develops, presents, recommends, selects and coordinates training for plant personnel at all levels, as appropriate, regarding equipment and process reliability.
  • Supports the efficient utilization of the Company's Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) System and ensures its use as a key management information tool.
  • Prepares budgets and implementation plans for reliability improvement efforts and maintenance repair expenditures (including the identification of outside resources when appropriate).
  • Works closely with the Manager of Plant Engineering and other plant personnel to ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local laws, statues, codes, and regulations as well as internal Company policies.
