The Project Engineer is responsible for layout, surveying and coordination of contract drawings to field staff and quality control functions of a project. This is a task-based role that requires working knowledge of core elements of construction projects, the ability to read blueprints, and the ability to use surveying equipment.

Requirements

  • Trade Certification or Technical Diploma/Degree in Engineering or related field experience is required
  • 3-5 years construction experience
  • Ability to learn quickly
  • Strong math skills

Nice To Haves

  • Water or wastewater project experience preferred
  • Strong surveying skills are a plus but not a requirement
  • Proficient in modeling software is a plus but not required

Responsibilities

  • Perform a variety of duties including surveying, daily reporting, and quality control management
  • Work with Project Managers/on-site Superintendent to coordinate contract documents to field staff
  • Monitor project change management process, identify change events, and track changes to the project documents
  • Assist with drawings, drawing records, revisions, and site instructions
  • Support Superintendent with creating templates and supporting documents on behalf of project team regarding roles and responsibilities
  • Record change orders and update site drawings
  • Maintain QA/QC and Safety records
