About The Position

Our Future Combat Systems team is seeking a full-time Project Engineer Staff (West Wing Site Lead) to support development of the Integrated Combat System (ICS) and manage test execution within the US Navy's West Wing test site. In this role, you will have responsibility for supporting planning, staffing, resource management, risks, and schedule for West Wing test activities. You will coordinate with vendors to manage West Wing configuration and infrastructure, and with onsite IT POCs to keep the site running in a stable condition. You will also coordinate with ICS Product Teams to understand West Wing dependencies and integration schedules, adjudicate the priority of West Wing integration efforts, and communicate these to stakeholders. Additionally, you will facilitate the adoption of West Wing testing metrics to quantify lab usage and value, collaborate with ICS I&T teams to schedule and execute high-profile test events, and act as a liaison between government and Lockheed Martin leadership for West Wing status, priorities, challenges, and opportunities. You will support high-profile Navy tours/demonstrations (O-7+) within the West Wing and drive opportunities to foster innovation within the West Wing. This position requires a government security clearance and is based out of the US Navy's Forge Software Factory located in College Park, MD. Lockheed Martin is an equal opportunity employer. Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Physics, or closely related technical field.
  • Minimum 5 years of engineering experience or closely related experience
  • Substantial working knowledge of the system development lifecycle
  • Demonstrated leadership experience with one or more of the following: Systems Engineering, Systems Architecture, Integration & Test, Test Site Infrastructure, Project Management
  • Ability to obtain & maintain a U.S. DoD security clearance at the SECRET level.
  • U.S. Citizenship required.

  • Master’s degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Physics, or closely related technical field
  • Ability to effectively communicate across internal and external stakeholders
  • Experience planning and executing large product development efforts

  • Experience working in a DevSecOps environment
  • Experience with the Atlassian Tool Suite (Jira, Confluence, etc.)
