About The Position
As a Staff Site Reliability Engineer you'll play a lead role on the founding SRE team at our new NYC engineering hub. You'll own multi-team reliability and infrastructure architecture, drive cross-functional initiatives, and set the standard for operational excellence across Legora's platform, partnering closely with teams in Stockholm. This is a New York-based, 5-day in-office role. We believe building together in person drives better outcomes.
Requirements
- Deep experience operating, designing, and improving large-scale production systems
- A technical leader who drives reliability outcomes across teams, not just within your own
- Strong architectural judgment for distributed systems: failure modes, scalability, and graceful degradation
- Effective communicator who spreads knowledge through post-mortems, runbooks, and design guidance
Responsibilities
- Architect and own reliability and infrastructure strategy across multiple teams and services
- Own the observability, capacity planning, and monitoring strategy for complex distributed systems
- Define and evolve SLI/SLO frameworks, error budgets, and production readiness standards org-wide
- Lead incident management practices, escalation design, and drive systemic improvements from post-mortems
- Champion toil reduction, on-call sustainability, and long-term system resilience
- Partner across engineering to lead design reviews and raise the bar on deployment safety and operational quality
