The Project Engineering Co-Op will support the mechanical engineering programs across multiple scrap metal recycling facilities. This role involves CAD design and documentation, including updating equipment and facility layouts for automobile shredders, ferrous downstream, and non-ferrous systems. The intern will also design machinery stands and maintenance platforms, produce fabrication drawings and bills of material (BOMs), and support the creation of project scope, budget, and schedule documents for capital projects. Responsibilities include coordinating and managing small-scale projects, tracking project scope, cost, and schedule, and traveling to facilities to support project execution. Additionally, the role involves learning and applying knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic components, supporting equipment installation, interpreting engineering schematics for troubleshooting, and utilizing equipment manuals to solve technical challenges.
