About The Position

The Project Engineer Intern assists construction engineering operations to ensure construction work complies with engineering standards. The internship provides hands-on experience, mentorship, and networking opportunities. The intern supports estimating and construction activities, documentation, project materials, change orders, quantity tracking, and cost controls. The position is subject to outside working conditions and may involve working around large construction equipment, with safety awareness required.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED and currently working toward a bachelor's degree.
• 0–2 years of experience in construction estimating support, engineering, field support, or similar work.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Ability to perform trigonometric calculations manually or with a calculator.
• Ability to assume responsibility and communicate and interact effectively with others.
• Valid driver's license and ability to drive.
• Ability and willingness to abide by the Company's Code of Conduct.
• Must be safety-conscious when working around large construction equipment.

Nice To Haves

• Study in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Interpret designs and drawings for takeoffs and workforce needs related to bidding and construction projects.
• Prepare and distribute documentation to a supervisor, including status reports, punch lists, sketches of completed work, and material requirement calculations.
• Provide technical support and direction regarding project materials, specifications, delivery dates, and construction schedules.
• Assist with change orders and estimates by preparing drawings and sketches to support estimating and construction work as job requirements change.
• Develop job-essential data, including quantity takeoffs and material pricing, to support accurate estimates and bids.
• Maintain accurate records of work quantities and installed materials for construction project cost controls.
• Comply with and support corporate safety initiatives to help ensure a safe work environment.
• Abide by the Company's Code of Conduct and work as a team player.
