Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering
  • Engineering and/or capital project experience
  • Experience in project management and basic knowledge of PLCs, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, electronics, HVAC, fabrication, and/or industrial maintenance systems.
  • Demonstrated organizational skills and a systematic approach to problem definition and solution development.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across all levels of the organization.
  • Knowledge of working within budgetary constraints and managing project costs and forecasts.
  • Excellent leadership, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to resolve problems and conflict in a positive manner using effective interpersonal skills.
  • Willingness to work extra or irregular hours as needed to support project execution.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a government-regulated industry; pharmaceutical or consumer care industry experience preferred.
  • Formal training in project management, such as coursework completed toward PMP certification.
  • Experience supporting commissioning, qualification, validation, and startup activities for new equipment and systems.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, develop, approve, execute, and close out capital and infrastructure projects for the Myerstown site from concept through startup and project turnover.
  • Manage assigned projects, typically up to $1.0MM, ensuring delivery against approved scope, budget, schedule, safety, quality, and compliance requirements.
  • Lead cross-functional project teams by applying Dynamic Shared Ownership (DSO) principles and VACC leadership behaviors as a visionary, architect, catalyst, and coach.
  • Develop project scope, cost estimates, schedules, resource plans, business justifications, and risk assessments to support capital program goals.
  • Coordinate design, procurement, installation, commissioning, startup, validation support, and handover activities for equipment and system projects.
  • Prepare equipment specifications, bid packages, and contractor scopes of work, and support supplier selection through technical and commercial evaluations.
  • Partner with Reliability Engineers, Technical Supervisors, Operations, Maintenance, Quality, Validation, Safety, Procurement, and Site Leadership to deliver safe, compliant, reliable, and energy-efficient solutions.
  • Support commissioning, qualification, and validation activities, including IQ/OQ protocol development and execution, as required for new equipment and systems.
  • Manage contractors, engineering service providers, and equipment vendors to ensure safe and compliant execution of project work.
  • Maintain project documentation, engineering drawings, spare parts information, preventive maintenance requirements, and turnover packages in accordance with site and regulatory requirements.
  • Communicate project status, risks, decisions, and resource needs to stakeholders throughout all phases of the project lifecycle.
  • Provide technical support for equipment evaluation, process improvements, efficiency gains, cost savings initiatives, capital budget planning, spending forecasts, and long-range planning activities.
