About The Position

We have an opportunity for a Project Engineer to join our growing Dallas team. Engineer would be responsible for entire project cycle to include design, development, and project completion. The Engineer will prepare engineering analyses and drawings for review by the supervisor. Typical projects would range widely; from general commercial and mixed use facilities, industrial/manufacturing facilities, schools and higher education facilities, medical facilities, data centers and mission critical facilities; and specialty structures such as pipe supports, freestanding billboards/signs, and equipment foundations. Projects will include new structures, analysis/repair of existing damaged structures, and adaptive re-use of facilities for renovation and new functionality. Opportunities are available for site travel and client relationship management based upon growth and development.

Requirements

  • PE or SE License
  • Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s degree preferred.
  • 7 - 15 years of experience required in structural engineering.
  • Experience with industry standard software, including but not limited to ETABS, SAFE, SAP, Microsoft products, Bentley (RAM) products, RISA, EnerCalc, Adapt, Tekla, etc.
  • Structural design experience utilizing different construction materials and structural systems; including but not limited to steel, concrete, and masonry design in low to mid-rise structures.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment, manage multiple projects, tasks, and deadlines, and bring each to completion.
  • Must be a self-starter and always willing to listen, learn, and improve.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written are required.
  • Must demonstrate team leadership ability, and ability to train and mentor younger engineers.

Responsibilities

  • Manage client relationships and lead meetings, serving as a liaison between architects, contractors, and design teams.
  • Prepare and review engineering analyses, design calculations, and construction documents, ensuring compliance with standards and best practices.
  • Oversee drafting and review of BIM and AutoCAD plans to represent designs accurately.
  • Coordinate information across disciplines and external teams to meet client expectations and quality standards.
  • Develop cost-effective and innovative design solutions while participating in proposal and RFI preparation.
  • Perform facility analyses, site reviews, and moderate design tasks for a variety of structural systems and materials.
  • Utilize industry-standard software such as Revit, RISA, and ETABS for design and documentation.
  • Contribute to Construction Administration (CA) tasks, including submittal reviews and field visits.
  • Assist in securing new work and maintaining relationships with existing clients.
  • Work collaboratively across offices to develop skills for leading larger and more complex projects.
