About The Position

As a Project Engineer 2, you will support new Plant opportunities. This engineer will be part of one of our AP1000 Project Development Engineering team, located at our global headquarters in Cranberry Township, PA. and will engage on a vast set of nuclear power plant design topics in support of Westinghouse's International new build market development. This role provides a solid development and growth opportunity for those seeking to develop as a technical leader or business leader, as support will go beyond one specific discipline spanning the new nuclear reactor design and support the development of a large network within Westinghouse. You will report to the Engineering Manager of AP1000 Project Development. You will enjoy a hybrid work arrangement, blending remote flexibility with regular on-site collaboration and periodic travel.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering required (Open to all Engineering Disciplines, Mechanical, Electrical, Nuclear, Chemical)
  • Minimum 3 years of applicable experience required
  • Ability to travel internationally as projects require (up to +/- 10% for peak times)

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience on AP1000 or AP300
  • Design & Analysis: NSSS components, piping, electrical, civil/structural
  • Systems Engineering: Nuclear systems, turbine island, plant layout
  • Regulatory & Licensing: Licensing, Domestic/International Regulatory interaction

Responsibilities

  • Assess incoming customer requests, develop response plan.
  • Compile existing technical design information across multiple technical areas into reports.
  • Interact with various engineering groups and other departments involved in a new build project to drive the delivery of engineering commitments on time and with the appropriate quality.
  • Support multiple aspects of future bid and proposal efforts in several countries in Europe but also globally.
  • Troubleshoot technical challenges and develop recovery plans.
  • Be a lead contact for Functional Area Leads and Project Coordinators.
  • Represent your discipline in project review meetings.
  • Apply engineering principles to integrate multidisciplinary input.
  • Facilitate cross-functional collaboration and stakeholder engagement.
