E2 Consulting Engineers, Inc. (E2) is seeking a Project Engineer I to join the Project Execution Team. This role will focus on major natural gas pipeline integrity, retrofits, pipeline replacement, and pipeline hydrotest transmission projects. The Project Engineer I will support design, evaluation, and implementation of efficient pipeline engineering projects to enhance safety, reliability, and operational efficiency across Southern California. This position involves collaboration with clients and stakeholders to define project needs, develop scoping documents, and support project execution. The role requires assisting in the development of pipeline engineering designs, including process diagrams, plans, profiles, details, material/equipment specifications, bills of materials, and exhibits. Detailed engineering tasks include calculations, hydrostatic testing plans, design basis documents, project execution plans, and equipment sizing/selection. The Project Engineer I will also review client and vendor documents, specifications, and datasheets, verifying FEED designs and calculations. Responsibilities include participating in planning sessions for cost control and scheduling, preparing and maintaining project budgets and schedules, and performing Quality Assurance/Quality Control on all deliverables. Effective communication and relationship building with project team members and clients are essential, aiming for customer satisfaction and loyalty. The role involves preparing and issuing RFQs, evaluating vendor quotations, and conducting Technical Bid Analyses. Coordination with survey, land, environmental, and other project stakeholders is necessary for detailed engineering design. The Project Engineer I will prepare proposals, scoping documents, and cost/schedule estimates for new projects, and negotiate change orders with clients. Providing technical expertise and consultations to other project teams for engineering problem-solving and design evaluation across various disciplines is also a key function. The role requires leading and collaborating effectively with teams for project execution, coordinating with the design team for pipeline design deliverables, and managing/coordinating with sub-contractors for survey, geotechnical investigations, permitting, and land acquisition. Direction will be provided to contractors, consultants, Company engineers, technical specialists, and other project team members as needed. The Project Engineer I will manage and coordinate all activities to ensure task completion and overall project success. Training, development, and mentoring of the engineering team, including developing training materials, are also part of the role. The position requires solving complex engineering problems that may necessitate adapting standard approaches, techniques, procedures, and criteria.
