About The Position

As a Project Engineer at Collins Aerospace, you will work with the Evacs Engineering organization which is a dynamic group of technically sharp and enthusiastic individuals who have a wide variety of passions and interests, both in and out of work. As part of our engineering team, you will see every step of the product from proposal to introduction into service, which is unique! Contribute to development and qualification efforts of aircraft evacuation slide components Participate on smaller projects or task-related activities including but not limited to hardware design, testing, and processing as part of a cross-functional team (IPT) Execute tasks to a detailed technical schedule Contribute to the development of goals of the discipline and planning efforts (budgets, operational plans, etc.) Technical interface with suppliers and partners Prepare presentations and presents project status Help create Bill of Materials (BOM) in Team center PLM Collaborate with project engineers across the IPTs both face to face and through multiple electronic forms Follow CMS process to execute projects under the guidance of engineering Manage and perform data gathering, plotting and presentations Participate in root cause analysis and help drive robust corrective actions for evacuation slide manufacturing and fielded product Coordinate the building and testing of prototypes Create qualification test reports and field investigation reports

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) major obtained by start date.
  • Experience may be obtained through on-the-job experience, research, coursework, or projects.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with project management and project scheduling
  • Experience working on cross-functional teams
  • Experience with Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, VBA)

Responsibilities
