About The Position

As the Project Engineer I, you will work on-site and be responsible for assisting the Construction Management Team with field project management in locations throughout Alaska and the Pacific Rim. Deployment to remote project sites will be approximately 6 weeks in duration for each rotation. Requirements

  • Ability to travel and work in remote locations.
  • Valid state driver’s license and must be qualified to operate a vehicle under the conditions of Brice Integrated’s Driving Policy.
  • Ability to pass a drug, driving and background screenings.
  • Knowledge of job costing and accounting procedures preferred.
  • Knowledge of computer-based construction and scheduling programs preferred.
  • Ability to professionally and effectively communicate with employees, business partners, and clients via written and verbal communication methods.
  • Ability to work independently and work cooperatively with others; ability to work with employees, business partners, and customers in a friendly and positive manner.
  • Ability to visualize, articulate, and solve complex problems and concepts, and make decisions based on available information.

  • Should have adequate knowledge of database software, spreadsheet software, scheduling software, job costing software and word processing software.
  • Microsoft packages preferred.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management or science discipline.
  • Engineer-in-Training certificate.
  • Alaska construction experience.
  • Experience with SWPPP inspections.
  • CESCL certification
  • Experience with AutoCAD, Inventor, Civil 3D, Microsoft Projects, HCSS Heavy Job, Trimble Surveying Software

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Construction Team including the Construction Manager, Project Manager, Quality Control, and Superintendent with job related tasks.
  • Assist with management, execution, and documentation of projects.
  • Assist with completion of daily project reporting including timekeeping; environmental and permit compliance; daily reports.
  • Assist with documenting daily work conditions.
  • Assist with creating and filing project reports including inspection reports; job diaries, photographs, and video logs; and subcontractor reports as needed.
  • Prepare correspondence as needed.
  • Assist Construction Superintendent with updates to project schedule.
  • Maintains effective communication and coordination among all project participants.
  • Work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • This position may direct the work of craft and other project workers as needed and directed.
