Join the home for entrepreneurs! The Project Engineer I (Mechanical) supports the design, detailing, and implementation of mechanical systems used in material handling and automation environments. This position is responsible for producing design documentation, supporting engineering integration tasks, and assisting with prototype validation. The role requires the application of mechanical engineering principles in collaboration with senior engineers and cross-functional project teams. Work assignments support customer-facing projects and may include occasional on-site travel.

Requirements

  • You have obtained a bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
  • You have gained 0–2 years of mechanical design or system-level engineering experience (internship/co-op acceptable)
  • You are proficient in 3D CAD software (e.g., Inventor, AutoCAD, SolidWorks)
  • You understand mechanical design principles, including statics, dynamics, materials, and manufacturing methods
  • You have strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and problem-solving capabilities
  • You can apply engineering judgment in a project-based, fast-paced environment
  • You are comfortable working in office, shop, and warehouse environments with occasional exposure to noise, confined spaces, and temperature changes
  • Eligible applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis. The employer will not sponsor applicants for work visas for this position.

Responsibilities

  • You will create and maintain mechanical design deliverables, including 3D models, 2D drawings, BOMs, and assembly documentation
  • You will assist with the mechanical integration of conveyors, sorters, and related automation systems into customer layouts
  • You will apply mechanical engineering principles such as statics, dynamics, and tolerance analysis under supervision
  • You will support prototype builds, testing, and validation of mechanical assemblies and systems
  • You will participate in equipment installation support, including Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT)
  • You will collaborate effectively with controls, electrical, and software engineering teams to support system functionality
  • You will travel up 30% to support customer integration projects
