The Project Engineer, Gas Asset Management assists in developing, expanding, planning, designing, maintaining, and operating the gas system and its equipment. The role helps evaluate system or material failures and identify appropriate resolutions, supporting gas operations with planned and unplanned maintenance. As assigned, the engineer ensures that Eversource gas transmission and distribution systems are designed to high-quality standards that provide safe, reliable, and environmentally sound gas service. The position shares accountability with leadership and peers for the strategy, development, and design of the organization’s long-term Gas Asset Management Program. Engineering practices are applied as directed by the Manager or Lead Engineer, Gas Asset Management, or their designee. The position supports risk mitigation, engineering design, capital and operating-cost planning, budgeting, project coordination, progress monitoring, and accurate documentation. It may provide direction to junior staff and review their work, and it may support gas distribution restoration efforts during emergencies. This safety-sensitive position requires availability for emergency restoration assignments and travel between Massachusetts, Connecticut, and New Hampshire as necessary. Employees in the position are subject to random drug testing, and an employee moving from a non-safety-sensitive position may be subject to a pre-assignment drug test. Applicants requiring immigration-related sponsorship to start employment will not be considered.
