About The Position

As a Project Engineer, you will be responsible for executing value add site projects from conception through implementation as well as providing electrical engineering support for projects performed by others. The role is project-management focused, with strong exposure to technical disciplines and close collaboration with the Principal Electrical Engineer, particularly on projects with significant electrical scope. This position is ideal for a candidate with proven project execution experience who is comfortable coordinating technical workstreams and partnering with subject-matter experts.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical engineering
  • Background in Motor Controls interfacing with DCS / PLCs, Variable Frequency Drives, 480V power distribution with familiarity in hazardous locations.
  • The motor controls include design and specification, equipment layout, grounding and bonding, protective and monitoring components.
  • 5+ years of experience in project engineering or capital project execution in an industrial/manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated project management capability (scope, cost, schedule, risk).
  • Comfortable working alongside technical experts and coordinating multi-disciplinary engineering activities.
  • Experience working with contractors and external vendors

Nice To Haves

  • Desired basic understanding of medium voltage motors and equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Own assigned capital and value-add projects from early concept through construction, commissioning, and handover.
  • Develop and manage project scope, schedules, budgets, including critical path tracking.
  • Maintain cost control and forecasts; proactively identify and escalate schedule, cost, or scope risks.
  • Coordinate internal stakeholders, contractors, and vendors to ensure safe, timely, and compliant execution.
  • Develop and Coordinate electrical engineering scope within projects.
  • Support design reviews, equipment specifications, and vendor evaluations.
  • Ensure alignment with site electrical standards and requirements.
  • Act as the project interface between electrical engineering, other engineering disciplines, and construction teams.
  • Support installation, testing, and commissioning activities for electrical systems as part of the overall project scope.
  • Provide SHE oversight for assigned projects, including contractor safety management.
  • Conduct or support Safe work permit audits, risk assessments, FMEAs, incident investigations, and RCAs.
  • Ensure compliance with site SHE standards and applicable regulations throughout project execution.
  • Manage MOC, action items, and project documentation in TrackWise or equivalent systems.
  • Ensure required validation and qualification activities are planned and executed.
  • Support project handover to operations.
