About The Position

CPH has an opening in our Orange Park, Florida office location for a Project Engineer (EIT/EI) – Water/Wastewater. This role involves preparing design plans, specifications, and reports for various water/wastewater and stormwater projects, including hydraulic modeling, client interaction, and ensuring design compliance with industry and municipal standards. The position also requires preparing engineering calculations, developing drawings, assisting with field research and data analysis, and managing time effectively to meet project schedules and budgets. Limited travel may be required for site investigations and construction observation.

Requirements

  • Bachelors or Master’s Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering.
  • E.I Certificate preferred or eligible and scheduled for FE exam.
  • Detail-oriented individual with strong technical and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in spreadsheets, word processing and standard office software.
  • Works well in multidisciplinary team environments and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong oral presentation and written communication skills.
  • Valid state-issued driver's license with a clean driving record.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with WaterCAD, ICPR and other modeling software is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Preparation of design plans, specifications, and reports for a variety of water/wastewater and stormwater projects which may include transmission, distribution, collection, treatment, storage, utility master planning, permitting and various engineering tasks.
  • Hydraulic modeling including stormwater pre/post and advanced treatment and storage design along with water and sewer pumping systems and hydraulic water distribution modeling.
  • Ability to successfully interact with various public and private clients and other jurisdictional agencies.
  • Review of design plans and assist registered engineer on plan modifications. Coordinate with drafting personnel to ensure changes are incorporated into the design plans. Ability to review industry and municipal standards to ensure design compliance.
  • Preparing engineering related calculations and develop drawings and visual aids.
  • Working on a wide range of projects and tasks and assist with field research, data collection, data analysis, graphics, maps and data presentation, and report development.
  • Management of time and workload to stay on schedule and within budget.
  • Limited travel to assist with site investigations, construction observation and project transmittals.
