Project Engineer (EIT/EI) - Land Development
About The Position
CPH has an opening in its Linthicum Heights, Maryland office for a Project Engineer (EIT/EI) – Land Development. This role involves working under a Professional Engineer as part of a team in the design and preparation of technical reports, analysis/calculations, and construction documents. The position requires preparation of accurate presentations, designs, details, and construction documents, as well as permit applications and submittal packages. Coordination with various stakeholders including clients, subconsultants, permitting agencies, utility providers, and contractors is essential. The role also includes periodic travel for site investigations and construction observation, preparation of specifications, shop drawing review, field observations, inspection reports, and other construction administration tasks. Collaboration with other firm engineers, architects, disciplines, project managers, and business development teams is expected. The engineer will be responsible for research, interpretation, and implementation of relevant codes and client requirements, utilization of CPH and client standards, review of documents for quality control, and development and adherence to project scope, schedules, and budgets. Management of clients and national account programs is also part of the duties.
Requirements
- B.S. Degree in Civil or Environmental engineering
- 1-5 years of experience in design and permitting of civil/land development projects in Maryland
- Ability to model stormwater
- Ability to design and manage small to large scale land development projects
- Ability to research and review code requirements
- Ability to maintain project schedule & budget
- E.I Certificate or ability to obtain upon starting is required.
- Willing to work as a team
- Strong organization and communication skills
- Will require intermittent travel to assist with site investigation, construction observation and project transmittals.
Nice To Haves
- CAD experience is desirable.
- Maryland utility design experience a plus.
Responsibilities
