About The Position

As a Senior Project Engineer, you’ll lead the delivery of complex architectural and structural building systems—from design and fabrication through installation. Partnering with design, manufacturing, field, and project teams, you’ll solve challenges, drive key scopes of work, and make a visible impact on every project. This role is ideal for a proactive engineering professional ready to take ownership, lead with confidence, and grow their expertise in project execution, safety, cost control, planning, scheduling, and team leadership. This position requires flexibility to travel up to 80% of the time, as project needs require.

Requirements

  • Consistently deliver assigned project scope in alignment with schedule, cost, and quality requirements.
  • Demonstrate mastery of the Project Engineer role, with the ability to lead, mentor, and train multiple Project Engineers across multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Communicate exceptionally well—verbally and in writing—while actively listening, engaging, and building trust with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Build strong, collaborative relationships and motivate teams with diverse backgrounds, perspectives, and priorities.
  • Maintain a high level of detail, accuracy, organization, and accountability while managing multiple projects, stakeholders, goals, and deadlines.
  • Apply strong problem-solving skills to identify, resolve, and help prevent recurring issues; escalate concerns appropriately while maintaining positive working relationships.

  • Show initiative and a willingness to step into a larger role when project needs or opportunities arise.
  • Maintain proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office Suite applications.
  • Perform frequent desk-based and mobile work, including sitting, standing, walking, and using computers and phones.
  • Perform periodic repetitive movements involving the feet, legs, hands, arms, shoulders, and torso.
  • Perform occasional physical activities, including bending, squatting, stooping, reaching, pushing, pulling, and lifting.
  • Be willing and able to travel 50% or more—potentially up to 80%, based on project needs—and temporarily relocate when required.
  • Three to five years of successful experience as a Project Engineer required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline required.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management preferred.
  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Exercise a high level of professionalism and confidentiality when handling staff, project, and proprietary information.
  • Perform advanced design-phase activities, including—but not limited to—submittal drawings, design approvals, reinforcement drawings, and miscellaneous metal drawings.
  • Oversee manufacturing-related production-phase activities, including—but not limited to—providing complete shop drawings, ensuring procurement of all required materials, maintaining the casting schedule, and conducting quality checks.
  • Oversee field-related erection-phase activities, including—but not limited to—preparing crane studies and rigging diagrams; coordinating shipping and field manpower requirements; and ensuring erection quality and performance align with the project plan and budget.
  • Apply project management and document-control practices, including—but not limited to—identifying and resolving issues, coordinating requested procedure submittals, escalating issues as necessary, and monitoring contract specifications, budget, and schedule commitments.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
