About The Position

Lockheed Martin Space is seeking a Project Engineer - Configuration Data Management to join the Fleet Ballistic Missile (FBM) team. This role involves coordinating the planning, organization, control, integration, and completion of engineering projects. The Project Engineer will review product design for compliance with engineering principles, company standards, customer contract requirements, and specifications. Responsibilities include evaluating and approving design changes, specification and drawing releases, and coordinating activities related to technical developments, scheduling, and resolving engineering design and test problems. The candidate will work with Configuration and Data Management (CDM) processes, procedures, and tools to support the FBM program's hardware documentation requirements, ensuring a sound understanding of CDM life-cycle activities. This includes establishing change orders, preparing documentation, reviewing engineering change data, and coordinating changes with various departments. The role also involves capturing and releasing classified documentation and models in accordance with DOD contracts, supporting team members with documentation handling, and providing general coordination and implementation of CDM requirements, policies, and practices for configuration identification. The candidate will manage the release process of documentation, process CDRLs/SDRLs, and capture electronic data files in both classified and unclassified areas, while also handling classified documents.

Requirements

  • Familiar with Configuration Data Management (CDM) and integrating and implementing CDM program requirements.
  • Familiar with Production and Development programs.
  • Familiar with Configuration Management hardware /design work.
  • Familiar reading and understanding Contracts.
  • Familiar working with CDRLs and SOWs.
  • Familiar working with Sub-Contractor SDRLs and SOWs.
  • US citizenship with ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret Security Clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge and understands how to apply EIA-649, the National Consensus Standard for Configuration Data Management.
  • Ability to quickly learn to handle classified data in a classified environment.
  • Familiar with design and Product Data Management tools like/or similar tools to EPDM.
  • Works with SharePoint, LiveLink, or other workgroup collaboration tools.
  • Ability to quickly learn electronic data vaulting and digital data handling using ePDM.
  • Ability to quickly learn new tools and processes.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and an ability to build effective working relationships.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Proficient with and comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Supports and process program design & change management production and development design information using LM Enterprise Product Data Management (EPDM) workflow, including the use and implementation of associated change objects such as Change Tasks (CTs), Change Requests (CRs), or Change Notices (CNs).
  • Exposure/or training to drawing and/or CAD to facilitate drawing and model reviews.
  • Proficient with and comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and an ability to build effective working relationships.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Government or Military customer experience and/or an understanding of DOD Contracts.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate planning, organization, control, integration and completion of engineering projects.
  • Review product design for compliance with engineering principles, company standards, customer contract requirements, and related specifications.
  • Evaluate and approve design changes, specification and drawing releases.
  • Coordinate activities concerned with technical developments, scheduling, and resolving engineering design and test problems.
  • Work Configuration and Data Management (CDM) processes, procedures, and tools supporting the FBM program implementation of new and existing hardware documentation requirements.
  • Establish change orders and prepare change authorization and documentation by company and subcontractor.
  • Review engineering change data and coordinate changes with engineering, quality, support manufacturing, and others.
  • Ensure customer requirements are implemented, approvals are captured, and compliant with configuration management policies.
  • Responsible for the process of capturing and releasing classified documentation and models in accordance with the DOD Contract.
  • Support FBM team members with markings, formatting, and handling of any documentation as necessary.
  • Provide general coordination and implementation of CDM requirements, policies, and practices pertaining to configuration identification (i.e. baseline documentation, hardware, and software) in accordance with business and contract requirements.
  • Responsible for release process of documentation, processing CDRLs/SDRLs in accordance with the Contract SOW, Subcontract’s SOWs, 1423s, and DD250s.
  • Responsible for capturing Electronic Data Files in classified and unclassified areas.
  • Responsible for handling classified documents.
