About The Position

Continental Electronics Corporation is a leading provider of RF technologies and innovative solutions with 80 years of proven performance. CEC has experienced significant recent growth and has established itself as the go-to supplier for a diversified product line supporting a wide spectrum of markets from commercial products, military customers, to space research laboratories. The Project Engineer is an Individual Contributor responsible for the technical portion of state-of-the-art RF transmitter systems product development. The PE is the technical lead for assigned products in their affiliated Integrated Product Team (IPT). This individual is responsible for product design, alignment across functional teams, regular communication of progress, as well as escalation of any issues/blockers.

Requirements

  • BS or MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or similar with 5 or more years of relevant experience
  • Experience translating system level requirements to functional areas for implementation
  • Knowledge of RF and digital systems, as well as some mechanical design
  • Strong verbal and written skills and the ability to influence others for close interaction with project teams, management and customers as well as creating required technical documentation
  • Ability to thrive in a highly dynamic work environment with various concurrent projects and competing priorities.
  • Travel will be required to support site installations
  • Selected candidates must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance issued by the U.S. Government throughout the course of their employment.

Responsibilities

  • Identify customer’s technical expectations for communication to the project team
  • Perform detailed technical analyses at the subsystem or system level using tools such as Matlab/Simulink, Ansys HFSS, Spice, Inventor, etc…
  • Provide technical expertise and leadership on assigned programs, working in alignment with the Program Manager, to lead the development team to achieve the committed product functionality in the timeline of the agreed contract
  • Ensure that all customer, contract and regulatory technical requirements on assigned programs are met
  • Coordinate engineering design teams to meet program objectives in terms of quality, cost and schedule (including on time delivery)
  • Identify technical risks on the projects and drive mitigation plans
  • Support the Systems Engineering team to document and track program requirements
  • Support site installations as needed, as the program expert, in support of the Field Service Representative team
  • Champion cross-team/intra-team collaboration and continuous improvement in product designs and engineering practices
  • Define processes for technical platforms, system specifications, input/output and working parameters for hardware and/or software compatibility
