About The Position

Lead the overall management and implementation of the YMCA of Metropolitan Los Angeles AmeriCorps Seniors RSVP program, ensuring compliance, efficiency, effectiveness, and high-quality program delivery across the association. Provide direct oversight, guidance, and ongoing support to the three AmeriCorps Seniors Support Staff, establishing clear expectations, priorities, processes, and accountability for program implementation. Facilitate collaboration and consistent communication among Support Staff and coordinate program activities across assigned regions to ensure a unified approach to AmeriCorps Seniors RSVP implementation. Lead regular coordination meetings with Support Staff to review regional implementation, volunteer recruitment and engagement, volunteer station activity, training needs, program data, challenges, and progress toward grant goals. Maintain consistent communication and coordination across YMCA volunteer stations, participating centers, community partners, and internal stakeholders to support effective program implementation. Ensure volunteer stations remain compliant with AmeriCorps Seniors RSVP requirements, including required screenings, service documentation, training records, volunteer tracking, and other applicable program regulations. Establish and uphold program-wide processes, communication plans, procedures, and best practices to ensure consistent implementation and service delivery across YMCA regions and volunteer stations. Monitor program performance, volunteer feedback, service delivery, and progress toward established performance measures to identify opportunities for continuous program improvement. Oversee progress toward the recruitment, engagement, and management of 1,200 AmeriCorps Seniors volunteers annually across the YMCA’s network of volunteer stations and program activities. Manage AmeriCorps Seniors grant requirements, reporting, documentation, application follow-through, and other required submissions in collaboration with the YMCA’s Grants Team and Mission Advancement leadership. Serve as a primary organizational liaison with AmeriCorps Seniors and participate in required trainings, technical assistance (TTA), collaborative meetings, program updates, and other AmeriCorps Seniors activities. Participate in the AmeriCorps Seniors TTA Annual Leadership Convening and relevant professional development opportunities to remain current on AmeriCorps regulations, performance measures, compliance requirements, and program best practices. Maintain regular check-ins with Mission Advancement leadership to provide updates on program performance, regional implementation, compliance, staffing, challenges, and progress toward grant commitments. Collaborate with the YMCA’s Grants, Finance, Risk Management, Data & Evaluation, and other internal teams as appropriate to support grant compliance, reporting, program monitoring, and successful implementation. Ensure Support Staff and participating volunteer stations receive appropriate guidance, training, resources, and communication to effectively recruit, prepare, engage, and support AmeriCorps Seniors volunteers. Identify program challenges, compliance concerns, and implementation gaps and coordinate appropriate solutions with Support Staff, YMCA leadership, and relevant departments. Grant Funded Position: Continued employment is contingent upon the availability of grant funding, ongoing program needs, and satisfactory job performance. Funding beyond the current grant period is not guaranteed.

Requirements

  • Age: 21 or older
  • Bachelor’s degree in nonprofit management, public administration, social services, business administration, communications, or related field.
  • 3–5 years of experience in program or project management, grant-funded programs, volunteer management, community-based programming, or related fields.
  • Experience supervising or providing direction to staff and coordinating work across multiple sites or locations preferred.
  • Strong project management, leadership, communication, organization, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, and program requirements.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and database management systems.
  • Must complete required YMCA and AmeriCorps Seniors trainings and maintain all required organizational and program compliance requirements.
  • Must have the physical, visual, and auditory ability to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation.
