The Project Director is responsible to drive Project Execution for green-field pump stored project located in the US with the expectation delivering the Project on time and meet all financial goals, in conformity with the Contract and managing the Customer expectations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an accredited university or college
  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant Power industry experience
  • Minimum of 5 years Project Management experience, including project execution, construction and onsite experience
  • Expectation for relocation to customer offices/project site – Pheonix, Arizona

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience in the Hydro Power industry with pumped storage experience is highly preferred
  • Prior experience with contract law, claim management, scheduling
  • Prior experience working cross-functionally in a high matrixed environment

Responsibilities

  • Develops and implements overall strategy for project execution to achieve project performance goals.
  • Represents GE Vernova to the customer; controls and manages this interface and relationship. Manages internal and external communication loop.
  • Sets up and secures necessary resources for project execution. Organizes project team and ensures that team members have clearly identified roles, responsibilities, defined interfaces and are empowered within their scope of duties.
  • Constantly monitors and, if requested, reports necessary key performance indicators (KPI's). Takes all immediately necessary action and makes decisions to guarantee financial, time, quality and safety performance to maximize achievement of project goals.
  • Establishes, implements and monitors Project Quality Plan, Procedures, and EHS Plan. Ensures best compliance within specification at lowest final cost.
  • Defines strategy for claim management and directs actions accordingly. Addresses claims by determining and leading all necessary actions in consideration of the defined strategy.
  • Defines Risk Management Plan. Constantly updates and reviews risk and opportunities of each Project. Evaluates and determines actions that benefit overall performance of Project. Follows-up on implementation and results.
  • Assumes full responsibility for project from Hand-Over from Sales until all obligations completed at FAC and/or Hand Over to Service Sector (if applicable). Takes necessary action to improve overall project process. Provides feedback to Sales and other Business Functions on performance of Project and processes.
  • Builds, leads and coaches a committed Project team guaranteeing the highest-level performance for each project. Defines Project goals and objectives, evaluates performance against those goals and objectives, and provides performance evaluation and development plans to functional management.
  • Develops and monitors Master Time Schedule, manages Project float to ensure timely completion of Project.
