About The Position

The Project Director is responsible to drive Project Execution for green-field pump stored project located in the US with the expectation delivering the Project on time and meet all financial goals, in conformity with the Contract and managing the Customer expectations. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an accredited university or college
  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant Power industry experience
  • Minimum of 5 years Project Management experience, including project execution, construction and onsite experience
  • Expectation for relocation to customer offices/project site – Phoenix, Arizona

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience in the Hydro Power industry with pumped storage experience is highly preferred
  • Prior experience with contract law, claim management, scheduling
  • Prior experience working cross-functionally in a high matrixed environment

Responsibilities

  • Develops and implements overall strategy for project execution to achieve project performance goals based on the contract.
  • Represents GE Vernova to the customer, controlling and managing this interface and relationship, and managing internal and external communication loops.
  • Sets up and secures necessary resources for project execution, organizes the project team, and ensures team members have clearly identified roles, responsibilities, defined interfaces, and are empowered within their scope of duties.
  • Constantly monitors and, if requested, reports necessary key performance indicators (KPIs), taking all immediately necessary actions and making decisions to guarantee financial, time, quality, and safety performance to maximize achievement of project goals.
  • Establishes, implements, and monitors the Project Quality Plan, Procedures, and EHS Plan, ensuring best compliance within specification at the lowest final cost.
  • Defines strategy for claim management and directs actions accordingly, addressing claims by determining and leading all necessary actions in consideration of the defined strategy.
  • Defines Risk Management Plan, constantly updates and reviews risks and opportunities of each project, evaluates and determines actions that benefit overall performance of the project, and follows up on implementation and results.
  • Assumes full responsibility for the project from Hand-Over from Sales until all obligations are completed at FAC and/or Hand Over to Service Sector (if applicable), taking necessary action to improve the overall project process.
  • Provides feedback to Sales and other Business Functions on the performance of the Project and processes.
  • Builds, leads, and coaches a committed Project team guaranteeing the highest-level performance for each project, defining project goals and objectives, evaluating performance against those goals and objectives, and providing performance evaluation and development plans to functional management.
  • Develops and monitors the Master Time Schedule, managing Project float to ensure timely completion of the Project.
