About The Position

Gigantes Group has been retained by a top-tier global renewable energy developer to identify a Senior Development Manager to lead utility-scale asset development across the West Region (with a primary focus on CAISO and Desert Southwest power markets). Our client is bringing massive capital backing to an already established, highly supportive platform. In this high-impact role, you will manage a diverse regional portfolio of utility-scale solar, wind, and battery energy storage (BESS) assets - taking projects from initial site origination all the way through permitting, interconnection, and de-risking for construction (COD). This opportunity is ideal for a proactive, growth-minded development professional who thrives in a collaborative, team-first environment and wants real autonomy to execute projects across the Western U.S.

Requirements

  • 5 to 10+ years of direct experience in utility-scale renewable energy project development (candidates with 10+ years entering at the Senior level; strong, high-grit candidates with 5+ years will also be considered).
  • Demonstrated track record of advancing utility-scale solar, wind, or BESS projects in Western U.S. markets (CAISO, WECC, Desert Southwest).
  • Deep knowledge of power markets and transmission constraints is required.
  • Strong command of land-use law, CEQA/NEPA permitting, interconnection processes, and project economic modeling (PPAs, project spend, tax equity impacts).
  • A self-starter with "grit," strong problem-solving capabilities, and a collaborative mindset that aligns with a tight-knit, highly supportive team culture.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Finance, Environmental Science, or a related field.
  • Based remotely anywhere in California (with flexibility to visit key regional hubs as needed), alongside willingness to travel to project sites across the Western region.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the full lifecycle development of a diverse regional portfolio of utility-scale renewables (Solar preferred, alongside Wind and BESS) from initial prospecting through to Notice to Proceed (NTP) and COD.
  • Manage ISO/RTO queue positions (specifically CAISO/WECC), oversee technical transmission/system impact studies, and negotiate complex Interconnection Agreements.
  • Lead environmental and land-use permitting strategy across local, state, and federal jurisdictions (including CEQA/NEPA navigation) and represent the organization in public hearings.
  • Oversee land acquisition strategy, option agreements, and site evaluation to secure viable real estate footprints for grid-scale deployment.
  • Maintain rigorous financial models, track regional development budgets, manage PPA pricing inputs, and ensure assets meet internal Final Investment Decision (FID) criteria.
  • Coordinate with internal engineering, GIS, regulatory, and finance teams, as well as external consultants and local community stakeholders, to push assets forward efficiently.

Benefits

  • Comprehensive, merit-based compensation package that combines competitive base pay with performance bonuses tied directly to personal execution, teamwork, and overall company success.
